If you want to climb something, it’s often helpful to have beta. But for clueless softmen like we are (or at least I am), why bother? So we ignorantly set out to climb Chimney Rock, the aesthetic desert tower below Capitol Butte and above Amitabha Stupa in Sedona, Arizona.

In order to save ourselves some embarassment, I’ll offer the short version of what transpired: We didn’t get to the top.
